Important Information About Mobile Al Flu Shots

By Kimberly Barnes

For you to guard yourself against the influenza virus, you should consider receiving a flu shot. So that you will have an easy time making an informed decision, below are a few facts about vaccines and mobile AL flu shots.

According to the Center for Diseases Control, one sure way of avoiding diseases and common illnesses is by receiving nasal spray flu vaccine annually. However not everybody is comfortable with this prevention measure because of how the vaccine is manufactured. It is believed that the thimerosal element used in producing the vaccine raises a lot of concern among many people.

The Thimerosal is a form of the conserving element made from mercury and for many years, it has been considered to hurt human beings. As a result, all the mercury-containing preservatives had been withdrawn from use. The chemical is said to be toxic with serious effects on the nerves and nerve tissues. It is believed that if it is taken to the human body system in small quantities, it may not have serious effects but when the consumption is high, it could have fatal results.

The regular flu shot is saving for it does not contain enough mercury to harm you. However, the only problem is that you could have taken other substances with mercury from other sources. When that adds to the one from the flu shot, it may be dangerous to your health. In some health centers, they have other flu shots which have no mercury but for you to be given that you have to ask for it explicitly.

The flu shots contain some dead influenza viruses that trigger the antibodies to develop in the body forming a shield against influenza viruses. However, with avian flu there are no shots that are known to shield people from them.

The nasal spray, a flu vaccine, which is at times preferred instead of the flu, has a weakened, live flu virus, and is accepted for use in healthy individuals aged between 5 to 49 years and not pregnant. Just as in the case of the flu shot, the nasal spray vaccine will work for particular strains of flu and not work for others like the avian flu.

The CDC recommends that some people should undergo some tests to be allowed to partake of the nasal spray vaccine and the flu vaccine. This is vital since most of the pharmacies will provide these vaccineway before the start of the flu period. Additionally, the flu should not be used on those children aged six months and below. In fact, when dealing with children. It is advisable that you ask the doctor about it.

There are several side effects experienced by different people some of the common ones being fever, soreness, swellings where the shot has been done, redness of the same and some aches. The nasal spray or the other hand may cause running nose, cough and sore throat in adults while the children may suffer fever, vomiting and muscle aches. The best method of ensuring good health is eating healthy foods, exercises and ensuring they have enough rest.
