Trauma Therapy, When Do You Need One

If a person or even an animal experienced a really disturbing or stressful event that makes him or her scared, feel helpless, powerless, and vulnerable he or she may be traumatized. Trauma can be the caused of a physical abuse or a mental abuse, or worst both. These can leave you with the memories that you have experienced and the anxiety.

Normally when someone experienced a bad incident, it takes a while for that person to forget the incident that occurred along with the pain that he or she felt. Trust issues will then be common to them, it will be hard for them to trust someone anymore. The worst case scenario, the person may not be able to let go of all the emotion that he or she is experiencing psychologically.

You might have notice that those who are experiencing this reacts differently from each other, then that is pretty normal. Different persons react differently based on what kind of trauma was experienced. Some of the symptoms one could have that is traumatized is agitation, getting startled easily, feels hopeless and sad, withdrawing ones self from other people, and fear.

Bad incidents that occurs usually last for a few days sometimes to a few months. Many of the person who recovered from this stated that there are still times when they are troubled by it. Through things and events that reminds them about it like an anniversary or an item.

You can still overcome this by yourself. However, if you are constantly having a bad dream and flashbacks that you are no longer able to live a normal life then you should probably seek out for a therapy. Also, if you tend to disconnected yourself from others and you feel depressed.

It is normal that a person going through would not want to share what is going through with him. Some even do not share anything at all or you are unable to tell if he or she is having a problem. Even to the people that you love it is very hard to share what more to the therapist that is a stranger to you.

It is understood that it is scary and feels unsafe to go to a therapy. That is why you got to try your very best to have the courage to face it. Talking to a loved one is one way of slowly letting a person get close to you which can be great for the specialist.

You do not have to worry because what you will share between the therapist is confidential. Meaning, it will just be between you two and no one else will know. Remember, the therapist is there to help you not to judge you.
