Florida has long been known as a winter escape for retirees. Often labeled as snowbirds, older adults have long been commuting to, and living in the state during harsh winter months. Now, a number of couples and individuals are looking for Retirement Communities St Johns County FL which can provide options for part-time and year round residences.

In most cases, senior residences in other areas of the United States are often limited to assisted and independent living apartment communities. As such, many are left without the option of home ownership during later years in life. Whereas, in Florida, individuals and couples can often find affordable condos, manufactured homes, mobile homes and RV parks with long-term and short-stay options.

When looking to purchase a home in the area, most are shocked at the low prices available in the area. For, most often a home that would cost hundreds of thousands of dollars in other areas can be found for between $50 and $150,000 thousand dollars in St. Johns county. Whether a lakefront, ocean or river view, these truly are some of the most affordable home options for seniors in the United States.

Whereas, most are conveniently located to public services, grocery stores and shopping centers. As such, seniors can often walk to and from a variety of locations once driving is no longer an option.

Seniors on more limited incomes may want to consider living in a 55+ RV park. In some cases, RV parks host adults 55+ while in others, there are areas reserved for seniors in those with general populations. In either case, these options are often the least expensive. For, most RV parks, whether staying on a short or long-term basis are generally based on per night or month to month rental rates.

In most cases, 55+ RV parks and those with general populations will offer a number of amenities that can be far less expensive than that of mobile home parks. In addition, while owners often increase rents on mobile home parks on an annual basis and require a lease, RV parks are often on a per night or month to month basis. Whereas, RV parks are also generally located near ocean beaches, lakefronts and National or state parks. As such, there are often bike and hike trails, parks with daily, weekly or monthly activities and scenic views.
