Tips For Applying Quality Eyelashes

By Brenda Rogers

Long full lashes are stunning and enhance your eyes. It is easy to give your eyes a more elegant look using false eyelashes. Using quality eyelashes that a just slightly longer than our own will give you this look. There are some helpful hints that will help you apply lashes quickly and easily. Be sure that everything you will need is at your fingertips.

Start by gathering everything you will need. Choose your brand of mascara and make sure it is black. Do not use brown or brown black. You will need an eyelash curler. Whatever you have will be fine but do not spend a lot of money if you need to buy one. Next choose a superior brand of false lashes. If the glue does not come with the package you will need to purchase some. The glue contains latex so anyone with an allergy to latex should get latex free glue.

Transparent, rather than black, is the recommended adhesive for lashes. It is important to make sure that the brand of glue you use is a good one. It is best to use an old tweezers since they get glue stuck to them. You will use them to pick up and hold the lash during application. Some packages include tweezers so you do not have to get your own.

Before applying the false lashes put your eye makeup on as you would normally. However, skip the mascara and do not curl your lashes. You can apply shadow and liner, only, to your eyes. Shadow is optional when applying lashes but liner is necessary and needs to be applied. Using liner bridges the gap between the natural and false lash line.

You will measure where to cut your false lashes by placing the lash along your own. Choose where you will trim using your finger for marking the length. Using scissors, gut the false lash to the desired length mark. This is really a situation when you eyeball where to cut. Make sure that you do not trim them too short.

Next, you will dispense a thin line of the glue on your hand. Use the hand you do not write with. Using your hand like this makes applying glue by dipping easier then piping on the lash. You simply hold the lash with your tweezers and dip it into the glue. This method gives you more control and keeps you from applying too much glue. When the glue is tacky, close the eye and put the lashes on the eyelid.

Use your tweezers to push the edges down and hold so that it sticks to the lid. Make sure to open and close your eye throughout this procedure to make sure you do not glue your eye shut. Finish by using your finger to press the lash to ensure it is adhered to the lid.

Once you have applied both eyelashes and the glue has dried thoroughly you are ready for mascara. Transparent glue is clear when completely dry. You can redo your eyeliner before applying mascara. Apply your mascara slow and start at the base of the lash. Finally, curl the lashes.
