Simplified Guide For Preventing Food Allergies In Children

By Larry Brown

The best way to appreciate the gift of children is to always protect them from danger. The danger is anything that interferes with their happiness and comfort. When children suffer from foods allergies, they get very uncomfortable. The pain they go through is what every parent would wish to protect them from. Preventing food allergies in children is not a dream farfetched. You can succeed with a few tips as discussed below.

Proteins are among the very important nutrients children require for growth. Proteins support cell structure formation and functions. Proteins regulate the tissues and organs of the body for an overall wellbeing. Sadly, allergens are dominant in protein delicacies like milk, sesame, soy, wheat, eggs, peanut, seafood and tree nuts. You can still get your children the needed protein and prevent allergies with the right knowledge.

You need to be vigilant to discover when your children have allergic reactions. The symptoms may take time to show or even show soon after eating the food. The symptoms can also range from mild to severe and both should be handled immediately. Most importantly, upon noticing that certain food causes your child an allergic reaction, you must stop giving it and seek alternative sources of the nutrient.

As a good practice, animal protein should be introduced to kids from age of six months. It is expected that at the onset of weaning, the children should be introduced to this reliable source of essential amino acids. However, only one delicacy should be introduced at a time. For example, you may want to introduce milk first, then maybe eggs, peanuts and so on and so on. The advantage of this is that you get to know the exact dish your child is allergic to. Thus, you can stop it and they still enjoy the other foods.

It is also recommended that you introduce eggs and peanuts before other allergens to the baby. The eggs should be hard boiled at this point. Peanut can be introduced in form of peanut butter. The butter can be added to the babys cereal or in applesauce. As the baby grows, then you can add peanut butter to French toast or on toast for the baby.

For proper functioning, your child needs iron mineral. This is responsible for proper red cell formation and energy supply to the body cells. It removes carbon dioxide from the blood. Your child can get iron from meat, poultry, and fish or iron-fortified cereal. Sadly, food allergens are present in some of these foods. Therefore it will help if you introduce them one by one as well while monitoring the childs reaction.

It is not yet clear on what kids should eat so as to prevent allergy. It is not yet clear also how much of the allergens are safe for children. So the best guidance is to introduce one delicacy at a time. Start as early as six months so that your baby gets used to the food allergens.

Talking to experts like pediatricians can also be helpful. They have the interest of kids at heart and they are always willing to guide. As soon as you suspect a reaction, consult with the doctor fast so you can spare your child the pains.
